Gone were the days when you have to go through the hassle of getting to the nearest DTI office and lining in long lines just to register your business name. Now, you can actually fill out application form, get to check available names you can use, pay for your transaction, and get your certificate, without ever leaving your house!
I recently registered a business name at DTI and I can personally vouch for the ease by which you can apply for and get a DTI business name registration certificate.
Just go to their website, and click new application (see below)
It will take you to Terms and Conditions page where you have to click "I AGREE" at the bottom of the page. It will take you to another page where you can check if the name you have in mind is still available or not. Fill out all other necessary information and choose the mode of payment you want. I chose GCash because I wanted everything to be as convenient as possible.
After you made your payment, you can immediately download a copy of the certificate!
